Sustainability
Who We Are
Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, The Dairy Business Association and The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin organized this alliance around the goal of helping farmers make tangible improvements to the environment and other aspects of their farms. Since then, additional partners have come aboard representing various parts of the food supply chain, from individual farms and agricultural groups to food processors and food companies. FSF is facilitating greater opportunities to support farmers and supply chain partners in gathering and analyzing data, understanding metrics and achieving environmental goals in the Upper Midwest.
Farmers for Sustainable Food is a collaborative, industry-supported effort to promote and support farmer-led solutions to today’s environmental challenges. We are the only collaborative, non-profit organization that provides resources, advocacy, support and empowerment for farmers who are innovating and demonstrating sustainable farming practices during a time of increased interest in agriculture and food origins.
FSF is an alliance created in 2016 to support and promote farmers in their conservation efforts. This organization has reached a new level, with a broader focus, more innovative projects and an increasingly diverse set of partners.
The group, originally formed as the Dairy Strong Sustainability Alliance, rebranded to Farmers for Sustainable Food in 2016. Since that time, FSF has evolved into a leading nonprofit organization that provides resources, advocacy, support and empowerment for farmers who are innovating and demonstrating sustainable farming practices.Contact Lauren with questions:
