Dairy Forward Pricing Program reauthorized through 2025

On April 23 the notice to reauthorize forward contracts for dairy farmers was published in the federal register. This program is known as the Dairy Forward Pricing Program (DFPP) and is a part of the Edge Farm Bill priorities list within Title 12.
This action was not allowed upon the expiration of the 2018 Farm Bill Extension on September 30, 2024 until the publication of this notice. This notice reauthorizes handlers participating in the DFPP to resume entering into new contracts until September 30, 2025. All contract must have an expiration date on or before September 30, 2028.

House Agriculture Committee Republicans released their plan Monday night to overhaul the nation’s largest anti-hunger program to help pay for the GOP’s megabill central to enacting President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda.
President Donald Trump announced May 8 that the U.S. and the United Kingdom had agreed in principle to a new trade deal. Though many of the specifics still need to be ironed out, the president hailed the agreement as a positive step for agriculture.
