Scholarships are due April 18, 2025.

Legislative hearing today to review Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act

The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry met this morning for a hearing on the "Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act.

 

Edge strongly supports the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act (H.R. 1147), which enhances school meal nutrition by providing children with a wider variety of milk options, including whole and 2% milk. Nutrient-dense milk is an essential part of a balanced diet, especially for growing children.

Voters head to the polls in Supreme Court, state schools superintendent races

Polls are open in Wisconsin with record-spending races for the state Supreme Court and superintendent of Public Instruction at the top of the ballot.

 

The state Supreme Court race pits conservative Brad Schimel, a Waukesha County judge and former GOP AG endorsed by President Trump, against liberal Susan Crawford, a Dane County judge. The race will determine ideological control of the high court. The winner gets a 10-year term.

Dairy Market Report for March 28

Welcome back to our Dairy Market Report! We partner with Ever.Ag to bring you highlights of recent dairy market activities, as well as a summary of key market indicators.

 

Despite heavy volume, most dairy commodity prices rose this week. CME spot butter gained $0.0475 per pound to $2.3500 on the largest volume traded since mid-October. Block and barrel cheese each increased to $1.6350 per pound, up $0.0325 and $0.0850, respectively. Forty-eight loads of blocks traded – the most since June 2023 – while barrel volume was the most since mid-July. Nonfat dry
milk also lifted $0.0175 from last Friday to $1.1625 on 18 trades.
