Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative commends U.S. Agreement on Reciprocal Trade with Indonesia

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, one of the largest dairy cooperatives in the country based on milk volume, commends the administration’s signing of a new Agreement on Reciprocal Trade with Indonesia.

“The recent signing of the agreement with Indonesia presents a great opportunity for the agriculture community, especially dairy," Heidi Fischer, Edge board president, stated. "It helps strengthen an important export market and expand trade potential for dairy farmers nationwide by eliminating tariffs and other barriers.”

The agreement outlines several key commitments that will benefit U.S. dairy and agriculture:

• Completely eliminate all tariffs for all dairy products
• Recognizes U.S. regulatory oversight
• Does not impose quantitative limits on U.S. exports, including through the use of import licenses or commodity balance programs
• Protects dozens of cheese and meat products use of common food names

Indonesia was the 11th-largest market for U.S. agricultural exports, with over $250 million in dairy exports in 2024. This market is an important region for U.S. dairy export growth.
